Music is an essential ingredient of movies, TV programs, commercials and video games. If done well, it will support the story line or message that the moviemaker tries to bring across to the audience. And the end result will be much more than just the sum of the parts — a win-win situation for everyone involved, including the audience.

If you hire me as the music guy for your project, I will sit down with you and we will discuss in detail what you are trying to achieve, and how music could fit in there. Preferably, you will give me a heads up by giving me the final cut of your project a couple of days in advance of our meeting, and if possible, longer. That gives me a bit of time to mull over things, and possibly have a few alternatives available.

Hopefully, during our meeting we can agree on a course of action for the music, and I get to work. I will then get back to you with a mockup (or draft, if you will), and you tell me if you like it, or where you have different ideas. I will then go back to the drawing table, make any changes you like, and deliver per your expectations. In the end of the day, you are the boss — it is your movie / show / game, and you have to decide. Even if I may personally disagree.
